What Is DLS?

DLS is the place where men on the down low can express themselves without the mask of anonimity. A place to get advice from a fellow brother on the DL or simply a place to be you. As the name suggests this is our safe haven, a place where a community will be formed and preserved as us men come to terms with our sexuality. For me personally, this is a kind of cathartic release, a kind of therapy in my journey. At 19yrs old, my aim is ambitous by the least. The DL needs to be destroyed, as if we were all 'out,' there would be no minority. All we want as DL men, is to be ourselves. Why live by societies rules and live an unhappy life, as black people we've come too far to turn back. There is 'accepted,' place for us in society and throughout my life, i devote myself to killing the DL and giving gay/bisexual men and more importantly the next gereration of them, a chance at a happy life. In doing this i cannot be a hypocrite, thus depending on the sucess of this blog.........i will come out. I will tell my thugs, my ex-girlfriend, my family, my flatmates, my colleagues......everyone. Most importantly I will tell myself, that being gay/bisexual is who am i am. Until then i will remain anonomous (typical of a DL thug to remain behind his mask) The DL has to change, can we change it? In the words of Barack Obama......Yes we can.
